Welcome to 4th Grade!

Hello Fourth Graders and families!

I'm excited to get to know everyone and to start the school year. I will be posting information, updates and photos on this blog throughout the year. Feel free to become a "follower" and check back often. If you want a sneak-peek at some of our activities, look through the older posts.

Field Trip to This is the Place Heritage Park

After learning about pioneer history this year, our class was able to experience some of what the pioneers did themselves. This is the Place Heritage Park is a great place to explore. There are also summer camp programs and weekend special events. Their website is http://www.thisistheplace.org/index.shtml

Eli's Discovery Day

Eli's mom came to Discovery Day to help us make gooey goo! Everyone had a great time and I'm sure you all enjoyed the bag of goo that went home. The kids were also given a copy of the recipe if your family would like to make more!

Mele is not too sure about hand mixing the goo.

Jonathan, Conner and Michaela demonstrate the goo factor!

Brayden has his yellow goo going.

Teig, Rylee, Carter, Eli, Shentara, and Zac earned the cleanest table award.

Abi, Braxton, and Jordan are mixing up their batches.

Thomas and Jordan slime themselves.

Twisty turny fun!

Gavin's Discovery Day

Long, long ago (sometime in March), Gavin's mom came in to teach the kids about staying healthy. She led the class in some excellent cardiovascular, stretching, and strengthening exercises. She also talked to the class about healthy eating and provided some great snacks. (Due to her great influence, I even stopped drinking pop for a month!) Here's some of our adventures!

HALLOWEEN!

Halloween in fourth grade is so much fun! We love to dress up for the school parade and eat way too much sugar at our party. Click on the photos for a closer look!

What a good looking class!

Despite the sugar rush, the boys are thinking hard to create new words.

Gee, which ones had the most sugar?

Thank you to everyone who helped at the party and donated items! It was a great day!
